As a California business and community member, cannabis industry leader, and passionate conservationist, Brian Casey has made an impact on the cannabis industry. He is the acting CEO of BASM Holdings (a privately held company), and former President and Co-Founder of Headwaters. Brian and his team at Headwaters were responsible for over $100M in sales in 2020 and 2021 and the leader in cannabis cultivation.
In 2015 he founded Helios, a California medical cannabis collective, this was Brian’s first venture into the rapidly growing cannabis space. He also expanded into other quickly expanding markets, including the vaporizer market with a company called State Wellness, co-founded in partnership with the Eaze platform. State Wellness developed into one of the top-selling vaporizer brands in 2017 after co-launching alongside the Eaze platform. Brian’s ventures with Headwaters, a California-based company, and BASM Holdings, a northern-US company, started in 2018 and 2020 respectively, and have been responsible for wildly successful growth in the cannabis market. As of 2022, Headwaters is the largest operator of farmland for cannabis cultivation through partnerships and flagship farms in the state of California.
Brian’s advisory and investing work has led to him working with various successful brands in the cannabis space, including Serendipity Growth Capital, PrimeTime, FinalBell, The Boston Garden, NativeSun, and many others.
